Australia Rugby Tickets

2 questions about travel to sydney, australia?
i’ll be traveling to sydney in august and i have 2 questions:
1. what type of mobile network is used in australia? is it gsm? and if, so what are the specific frequencies used?
2. are the rugby leagues or australian rules football leagues in season during august? what is the average ticket cost and are tickets difficult to get close to match day?
so that turned out to be way more than 2 questions but i any help would be appreciated.
As has already been stated August is still during the football season for all 4 major codes, those being Rugby League, Rugby Union, AFL and soccer. Rugby League (NRL) and AFL are the big ones. In Sydney there are several Rugby League games each weekend, with Sunday being the main day. As for AFL you’ll only get a game in Sydney if the Swans are playing at home. As for Rugby Union and soccer (A-League is our main championship) best to google as they are not as popular. I’ll provide a link for the NRL and AFL so you can check the fixtures for when you are coming.
We have quite a few mobile phone companies over here using a mix of GSM and 3G, depending on what phone you have. Telstra, Optus and Vodafone are the big 3 here. If you are coming for a short time you should have no trouble if you organise international roaming. If you are here for a while, you can buy a pre paid GSM mobile for under $100 quite easily. The actual frequencies aren’t widely published, for privacy reasons.
