Why the Anti English?
Ok, another Rugby (ish) question.
We are in the final of the world cup – great, a huge achievement since we were written off at the beginning of the tournament.
Anyway, I was in conversation with some Kiwi’s (New Zealand folk) at the weekend who had friends at the game (England V France). When they were asked if they would sell their tickets to England fans, they refused saying they were going to support France and Jeer England. (Charming!)
Anyway my question is this, apart from the Scots and the Irish (who I understand the reasons why they dislike us (aaw bless!) why do the Aussies and Kiwi hate us so much?
is it an inferiority complex? I think so. Why would they choose to support a nation such as France over a country they have strong links with?
It seems strange to me. I understand friendly rivalry etc but I would probably support them over France, but that is maybe because we English have a stronger rivalry with France perhaps.
Its an odd world.
The Aussies and Kiwis in the case of rugby are like this cause they cant handle that the Brits are better at rugby.
